As amostras de solo foram coletadas em diferentes camadas de profundidade, que incluem: 0 - 10 cm, 10 - 20 cm, 20 - 30 cm, 30 - 40 cm, 40 - 60 cm, 60 - 80 cm e 80 - 100 cm (ou até a camada de impedimento em solos com menos de 100 cm de profundidade).

&lt;p>
Os principais usos da terra considerados no estudo foram: vegetação nativa densa (Mata Atlântica e Caatinga), vegetação nativa aberta, agricultura e pastagens.
